Rain 
Rain, glorious rain! One can almost hear the collective sigh of relief from all the trees in the area...I could have collected three or four times this amount of water...The desert turns green for a week-end...

Getting to know you.... Getting to know a new song is much like getting to know a person. There are so many details to notice...so many things to find out...And then you build a history of memory, a relationship really...you remember a part, the phrase coming up, and you remember it before you even hear it. There has been a thousand times that I would listen to a CD and I could swear I heard the beginning of a song - before it actually started...That's what this phase of mixing a record is like...really getting to know a song...inside out...measure for measure...beat by beat...And sometimes as song makes strange requests...as if asserting itself and saying: this is what I am about...and this is what my title should be and this is how I should sound...Strange, isn't it? Like watching a child unfold...
