One of the most ambitious VR projects undertaken has just gone online: a gallery of immersive vistas shot all over the globe during the first day of spring. By Leander Kahney. [Wired News]

Americans love SUVs, believing them to be safer than passenger cars (even though statistics say otherwise)....
[Another World Is Here]
If you are very delicate, don't go here or here or here. But me, I am still laughing over that Haiku at the bottom of the "Inspired Works" page.

Isn't it outrageous that I could have a twenty-something thousand dollar tax credit for buying a Hummer vs a measly $1,500 tax-credit for a Hybrid car? What are we trying to promote? Hummers, which get under 10mpg and will kill any person in a passenger car that should be in their way in an accident (because of the sheer weight of the H2 Hummer - around 8,500 lbs.) - or Hybrids that get 45+mpg.

By the way the other day I saw a few minutes of Tom Hanks on Dave Letterman and it was hilarious. Hanks talked about his Hybrid and full-electric cars and let slip that he is involved in a company that will convert cars to full-electric vehicles....Letterman suggested calling the car the "Hankster".

CCTV headquarters
Going Dutch - in style. Slate features Rem Koolhaas, "the most influential architect of the last decade." The picture at right depicts the CCTV headquarters building, in Bejing. Awesome - sculpture you can work inside!
[Critical Section]
It seems people either love Rem Koolhaas or hate him. Check out this brilliant design, which dampens the sound and looks cool.

This is the house that made me notice Rem Koolhaas, although I had looked at some of his books before. A brilliant design for a client in a wheel chair, who with this elevator can make a dramatic entrance at every level of his house.
