Moving right along
The saga continues: Before class last night, I explored what it would take to knit Judy Ditmore's sideways jacket for the Arizona climate (all her kits are wonderful, but very wooly). As we started pairing yarns, which is more fun than any human should have, it became clear that the jacket was becoming one of these: Well, to get four stitches to the inch, you can run this with this, and this with this, but if you want to use this, then you'll need to pair it with this. The sad reality, I was trading one Devil's spawn project for another.
So I've decided to knit this:

From Sally Melville's The Knit Stitch (Mom, can I borrow it?)
Jeannie at The Lamb fashioned one with short sleeves from Fiesta Yarn's splended rayon boucle (onyx) and it's a stunner. I will be doing the same, but in sapphire. Think MIL will like?
More did you know: Knitter's Magazine is offering a tour of Greece? Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't the Aegean and the Greek men distract from one's knitting?
Novel idea: There's a new knitting novel that's just been released? Can't remember the name. But heck, didn't we want to write the Great American Knitting Novel?
