Fabulous Friday

MinnowKnits by Jil Eaton in Cotton Classic II
Goo La La completa: In spite of its flaws, I am tickled pink with Goo La La. When I tied that little black bow around the waist, I cracked up. Awfully darn soignee for a girl in a diaper, huh? (Incidentally, the buttons on the shoulder are vintage jet.)
Had I knit Goo La La in DK-weight yarn as written, the fabric would drape better. But with babies, I do cost-benefit analyses. Cost equals hours spent on my ass knitting. Benefit equals hours spent on child. How many times will the little monkey wear this thing? Twice, maybe? And will the mother lovingly tuck it away in tissue for later viewing? Chances are slim and none--and Slim just left town.
Aran weight it is. (Amazing I haven't turned to super bulky children's knits.)
Vintage Vogue continues to amuse. I'm nuts about an "evening blouse with double straps" knit in Red Heart Orlon "Fashion Glo" three-ply. Can't you just see me swanning around sweating like a wild boar in Orlon Fashion Glo? (I wasn't going to post a pic, but the top is just too cute. Here you go...)
