A good day in Nake-id City

Fiesta Yarns Rayon Boucle in Wild Oak
Viva la Fiesta! After getting wringing-wet-soaked-to-the-skin on my afternoon walk with the Garlic Queen (the lovely Susan, who's about to become the proud mama of a saluki named Sugar), this was waiting for me at The Lamb. (On my screen, the color is showing fairly true. Luminous, no?) Will swatch tonight for MIL's birthday suit!
My lucky day: This turned up in the mail...

Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 1956
I became possessed after reading one of Leya's posts about her vintage Vogues and The New Look. So I toddled off to Ebay and started bidding. Though I have yet to read the articles, I am struck by the number of dress patterns offered in tiny gauges, 9 sts to the inch, anyone? And the number of models with tiny waists. Makes one want to jump into a girdle. Also this yarn ad headline tickled me: "Can-Can by Unger...The Gayest Yarn Ever!" (I know, I'm easily amused.)
