Wednesday Miscellany
Midweek content scramble: When the Wednesday Miscellany head goes up, you know Nake-id Knits is short on knitting content. Happily, though, there's...
Convergence 2004: If you are anywhere near Denver on July 4th weekend, high-tail it to Convergence. Held at the Colorado Convention Center, June 30-July-3, Convergence brings together weavers and fiber enthusiasts from around the world for the Handweaver's Guild of America's biennual conference. What does this have to do with knitters, you might ask? Shopping! And lots of it. The market features tons of handwovens, plus yarns and exotic fibers from 300 vendors. Also there are 97 fiber art exhibits in the Denver area during the conference--including the one on Concourse A at Denver International. For a list of vendors and exhibits check out the HGA's pub, Shuttles, Spindles and Dyepot. Day passes to the exhibit and vendor halls are $10.
(I'll be there all day Wed., June 30 selling knitting kits, Lantern Moon baskets, and other goodies for my LYS, The Recycled Lamb. Say "hi" if you come!)
Do check out the Audreys: Take a spin on the Audrey blog if you haven't in a bit. There are some delicious iterations of the Rowan pattern. (Some of us must live vicariously through others' success.)
In other Hollywood icon knit-a-long news: Do you'all know about the Kate-a-Long hosted by Rock Chick and Smiling Tiger? The pattern is from Phildar's Famille Spring 2004 and offers both a 3/4-sleeve and sleeveless version. Tres bien, no?
Daily weirdness: Last week I received a spam from a certain "Queen Platt" with this subject line: "Gonad 16 piroshki." Cracked me up.
