Introducing the Cone Zone Cardie

Click me for bigger shot

The latest for bebe: I knit the above in Plymouth Encore (75 percent acrylic, 25 percent wool) using stitch hems. Embellished with vintage buttons. Betcha want to know how to do loop stitch. Huh? Because I'm such a generous sort, I'll post the secret.

Loop stitch:

Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: Insert the needle knitwise and knit one stitch without pulling it off the left-hand needle. Bring the yarn in front as if to purl and wrap it around your left thumb (this forms the loop). Then knit into the same stitch still remaining on your left-hand needle and slip off. You now have two stitches on your right needle. Pass the first stitch over the second. Repeat across the row.

Row 3: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.

Lucky, lucky baby!
