Rebecca's Blog
Mostly news stories or articles of interest in the future to me. I'll eventually get around to adding my own ideas and stories on a more regular basis.

Dell: Home is where the PC is. Michael Dell argues that the PC should be the center of entertainment in the home, but how is his company planning to realize that vision? [CNET News.com - Front Door]

Interesting headline.  In some ways I would agree for my home...I would much rather someone steal my TV than my computer, that's for sure.

Yay!!!  It's done!

Technically I have to print & proof-read tomorrow, but all the idea-building is done until the first meeting review with my boss, VP and head tech guy on Tuesday.  Woohoo.

Did I hear a "You go girl"?  :)

Today I've been working on the specs for a major application rewrite for my current employer.  I've been working on it all week, but most days I just worked my morning "prime time."  I gotta tell ya...it's been SO exciting for me.  I don't know what will happen when I let other people see it and get thier reactions and feedback, but for now it's a blast.  It's fun getting to redesign the way something works.  Interesting to take the feedback I collected from my coworkers and clients, combined with checking out the competition's way of doing things, and setting up something new.  Even though my say isn't by any means final, for this first document it's all me.  It's also nice to be working on something where, at this point, I'm not dependent on anyone else to keep my momentum going.  The deadline is noon on Friday, so I'm going to try to finish tonight to get some quick proof-reads from friends/coworkers.  We're up to 20 pages, loaded with images though, so I'm not sure how easily I can e-mail even zipped.  We'll see.  I feel like none of these words are combined properly, but I'm going to post this anyhow 'cause I'm so excited to be feeling this feeling.

Through [The Scobleizer Weblog]I found Jim Blizzard is asking "why do you blog?"

I blog because I'm an extreme E and need to feel that someone is "hearing" the things I'm reading/thinking about.

Having the aggregator helps me learn and individualize companies.  It's motivational on a daily basis to read other's thoughts and to know that other people are reading/writing/doing great things.

I'm a geek.

Finding a husband the Harvard Business School way (Reuters). Reuters - Over 35? Still looking for Mr. Right? Feeling left on the shelf?

"It surprises me that women say they can't find any men, and men say they can't find any women. So really it is a marketing challenge of how to connect these two entities."
