No more F1 in Montreal

This sucks. The Montreal F1 Grand Prix dropped for 2004. I was thinking that I would somehow try to get there next year.

Shows really how much of a slime ball Bernie Ecclestone is -- this is what he said(apparently) a few days ago.

Spam Works

Spam Works. A half million in sales for a bogus product is proof. [The Motley Fool].

The statement falsely attributed to P.T Barnum still holds it appears.

This is disturbing on a couple of fronts -- apparently  lots of guys out there apparently think their dicks are too small -- but it also indicates that spam actually works. In my subconsciuos I guess I was hoping that all this spam for penis enhancement, breast enhancement, great investments, get rich schemes etc. etc. actually would stop working and the spam producers would eventually find it not worth their while. No such luck I guess.

Maybe the sucker born every minute has accererated to one every second in the internet age.

SIPphone

Michael Robertson Unveils SIPphone [Slashdot]:

I wonder whether this has any chance of success. My experience makes me think that real time audio/video calling over the internet in its current configuration can never be much more than a toy, an experiment, a diversion, suitable for occasional use but not suitable as a dependable business communication tool.

Without some sort of QoS capability on the internet callers cannot be assured of having a call where both sides can undestand each other in a reasonable conversation.

The interent is a very hostile environment for real time audio/video telephony.
