Paul Martin

Saw a post from Dave Winer regarding Paul Martin (who will become Canada's next Prime Minister unless something pretty bizarre happens) being a (relatively) new blogger.

I have a semi personal connection to Paul Martin -- my wife and family lived across the street from the Martins in Windsor when she was growing up. My wife's sister and Paul's sister are still close. My nephew ( a political science student at Dalhousie) is involved in Paul's current campaign for the federal Liberal party leadership.

Way to go Paul!

Follow up:

I noticed that there have been no updates to Paul's blog ( or the surrounding website for that matter) for almost a month. Maybe Paul is not all that committed to blogging.

Now Bernie says -- no I didn't say that

F1: Confusion over Canadian GP. F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone denies claims that the Canadian Grand Prix will not be on the 2004 calendar. [BBC News | News Front Page | UK Edition]

So which is it?--it seems this guy talks though his ass so much it whistles.

Rivals Say Halliburton Dominates Iraq Oil Work

Rivals Say Halliburton Dominates Iraq Oil Work. Companies, hoping to win a new round of contracts to rebuild the Iraqi oil industry, say the government has already arranged for Halliburton to get most of the work. By Neela Banerjee. [New York Times: NYT HomePage]

Isn't this interesting -- of course this has nothing to do with the fact that U.S. V.P Cheney is connected with Haliburton now does it. And the war in Iraq was not about oil. Obviously it was about Weapons of Mass Destruction -- or it will be as soon as they find them.

I wonder why United States is so despised around the world.
