Years ago I was behind Israel 100 percent because they seemed to be a country that could take care of business. Not anymore. The downhill slide started when they started listening to what the rest of the world thought of them and began trying to make the rest of the world like them instead of protecting their people. How long is it going to take and how many hundreds and thousands of Israelis are going to to die before you do something about it? For Christs sake Israel! - you have the means to end this whole mess that the world is in and have had for a very long time. What the hell are you waiting for? Start taking care of business and to hell with world opinion. You should be ashamed of yourselves for letting it get this far when the God you believe in gave you the means to correct the problem many years ago. I'm sorry but when I think of Israel now I think of France at the same time. I know myself and many I talk to are just a little tired of the incessant whining coming from Israel. If you feel that you are being picked on then do something about it. At least my country is attempting to strike back to being slapped in the face. There may be a great debate around the rest of the world and even in this country about the methods used but at least we are doing something and to hell with world opinion. For years now we have Israel and Arafat standing there in a field facing each other. Arafat slaps you in the face. You slap Arafat in the face. He slaps you in the face. You slap him in the face. This will continue till hell freezes over unless one day you double up your fist and knock him to the ground. The would is tired of the bitch slapping contest. You have the "fist" --- use it! (LP)

Muslims? Intolerant? (WSJ)
"Organizers of a World Religion conference, to be held in Vancouver next month, have re-affirmed their decision to un-invite gay city councillor Tim Stevenson to be a moderator," the Canadian Broadcast Corp. reports. Andrees Chowdry of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community tells the CBC: "We did not know that he is an advocate of the gay community. And when we further talked about him between ourselves, it came out that he's a strong advocate of the gay people."
Replies Stevenson: "It seems very ironic to me that a Muslim group is being so intolerant, when they themselves--in North America--are pleading for tolerance."
Yeah, go figure.

Press slants Iraq news. No! Really?
Journalists are giving a slanted and unduly negative account of events in Iraq, a bipartisan congressional group that has just returned from a three-day House Armed Services Committee visit to assess stabilization efforts and the condition of U.S. troops.
Rep. Ike Skelton (D-Mo.), the committee’s ranking member, said, “The media stresses the wounds, the injuries, and the deaths, as they should, but for instance in Northern Iraq, Gen. [Dave] Petraeus has 3,100 projects — from soccer fields to schools to refineries — all good stuff and that isn’t being reported.”

Melting Ice. Now here's something you don't see every day: an intellectually honest environmental scientist. [Right-Thinking from the Left Coast]
I don't believe that SUVs existed 150 years ago. Hell, the Industrial Revolution was only just kicking off in the mid-1800s. In other words, if the 150 year warming trend is accurate, then there is no way that human pollution caused it. The scientist in this story deserves a lot of credit for not raving on with hysterical doom-and-gloom scenarios about the end of the world due to global warming.
