Whoop Up Side Your Head.... Serenity has had it with parents thinking that disciplining a child is "abusive" and, as a result, are raising miscreant little shits. Damn straight, girl. Well said.... [Electric Venom]

No, I do not condone punching kids or hitting them with belts, paddles, sticks, switches, kicking them, pulling their hair, etc.

But a slap across the face or their ass...you betcha! I don't care who it is! The discipline does not just need to come from the parent. Remember the paddle in the principle's office?

George Bush and the Naive Nine [WSJ]

If I live and breathe, and if--as Hank Williams used to say--the creek don't rise, in 2004 this Democrat will do something I didn't do in 2000, I will vote for George W. Bush for president.

I have come to believe that George Bush is the right man in the right place at the right time. And that's a pretty big mouthful coming from a lifelong Democrat who first voted for Adlai Stevenson in 1952 and has voted for every Democratic presidential candidate the 12 cycles since then. My political history to the contrary, this was the easiest decision I think I've ever made in deciding who to support. For I believe the next five years will determine the kind of world my four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren will live in. I simply cannot entrust that crucial decision to any one of the current group of Democratic presidential candidates.

We will need a lot of these because of the dumbass so called conservative and Republican voters who refuse to vote for someone who didn't do 100 percent of what they thought he should.  Their thinking is George W didn't do something I wanted him to so I'll be damned if I will vote for him ... I'll show him!  The libs love that personality quirk in the righties and will be laughing all the way to the White House.  They did it with Bill and are getting ready to do it with Hillary as the other candidates self destruct. Wow.. It's not often you find someone crazier than I am. This story is something of a progress report on these guys who are attempting to break the current land speed record set by Thrust II. How are they doing it, you ask? Well... The team's mission is to break the world land-speed record by doing... [Capitalist Lion]

Fables of the Reconstruction

A new report by the Center for Public Integrity attempts to prove something that many people simply assume to be true: that the Bush administration has strongly favored cronies and campaign contributors in awarding reconstruction contracts for Iraq and Afghanistan. The CPI devoted six months to research and filed more than 70 Freedom of Information Act requests and appeals to get to the bottom of the story. The conclusion of the report, "Windfalls of War," is that a clear quid pro quo exists between government procurement and campaign contributions to George W. Bush. Charles Lewis, the group's executive director, released a statement arguing that the report reveals "a stench of political favoritism and cronyism surrounding the contracting process in both Iraq and Afghanistan."

There's just one problem: The CPI has no evidence to support its allegations.

No sh - t Sherlock?!

Didn't Take Long. Seriously, how long did it take? Tragically, one helicopter (full of troops headed home for some R&R) gets shot down. 16 Killed in Action, 20 Wounded in Action. And these guys start spewing about needing help in Iraq. President Bush's... [Blackfive - The Paratrooper of Love]
