They've Come for your Children.
The scum at PeTA are up to their old tricks.
Animal rights advocates will single out small children at performances of "The Nutcracker'' in the next few weeks by handing out fliers saying "Your Mommy Kills Animals'' to youngsters whose mothers are wearing fur. "Children can't look up to a mom in a battered-raccoon hat or a crushed coyote...

see the light.
I smacked the newspaper with my hand. "People are stupid these days. Or maybe they've always been stupid," I said to my father as he read a magazine in the wicker rocking chair. "Do you ever read Dear Abby?" I asked him. "Not often," he replied.

It's the economy stupid.
This article from the Wall Street Journal popped up in my Google news group reader. Seems that another sector of the economy is on the upswing.
BOWMAN, N.D. -- This year's price rally in agricultural commodities is so robust that farmers and ranchers are emerging as a growth engine for middle America, helping to lift the region out of recession and increasing the chances for a period of sustained national growth.....
Should have hung on to that cattle ranch JP!

So much hate! (Have Barf Bag handy when you read the article)
Having this page has given me a much deeper insight into the liberal mind. I knew there was a lot of seething anger out there just from listening. I made the false assumption that it was just temporary brought on by the election of GWB. I could relate to that somewhat having just finished 8 years of watching the Clinton's do their best to destroy all that I thought this country once stood for. I could also understand how many of them might feel that the election was stolen from them because of the way things happened in Florida. If I was a Democrat (parish the thought) I would probably feel cheated because of a few hanging chads. So close yet so far.
Having this page has brought me to the realization that the hatred runs much deeper than just GWB. He is a good target but the real hatred is for this country and everything it stands for, and now I find even hatred for inanimate objects because some of them might be used for destructive purposes by the military and evil persons.
It's a sad day when your hatred for the country runs so deep that you cannot even allow yourself the pleasure of celebrating the joy of the first flight.
Get a grip people. If GWB gets another 4 years you will be eaten alive by your anger. Is it really worth living 8 years of your life in a seething rage? How many years will that take from your life span?
This day is done and most alive today will be long dead when the 200 year celebration comes.
Some things lost can never be recovered.

Everything you need to know about the Halliburton Deal.
It's all right here and here. Read it and see why the Democrats, as usual, are whining about NOTHING. No "cronyism", nothing at all, just phony whining and Bush bashing by Waxman-led Democrats....

I swear if I hear one more person whining about the so called Halliburton Deal I'm going to freaking scream!

NYT Bias Watch.
In their continuing effort to undermine US efforts in Iraq, the New York Times resorts to blatant falsehood in an article claiming Baghdad has the highest murder rate in the ...
[little green footballs]
Yep! ... the good old NY Times where everyone goes to get the bottom line on all the news. How many of you have local papers reprinting articles from the NY Times? How many of you believe what you are reading? It was in the paper so it must be true - right?
Actually - it's a sad commentary on the state of todays news reporting that if it's in the paper it probably isn't true.
Read the whole article in LGF, especially the part about how the NYT got the bogus numbers. Sick, sick, sick.
We're being treated like fools people. Wake up!

The big 10 thou!

Someone in Brooklyn, NY rang up number 10,000 on my counter this morning at 11:32 PST. Congratulations. I know it's someone who comes by often because I've seen that IP address before.
I started the old Blog*Splat page on June 30 of this year. That lasted less than a month till the move to Userland.
My original intention was just to have a place to put all the stuff that was interesting to me and not be sending others a dozen e-mails a day. As always happens on the net others discovered the page and decided to drop back once in a while.
A big thanks to all of those who have linked to me. Now if I could just learn to write eloquently like all those you see in my blogroll. I'm thinking of hiring a ghost writer. Are you up for the job Bastard?
It's been a fun ride and I'm not bored with it yet so keep coming back.

How the press could deal with good news [telegraph.co.uk]
Actual happening...."Saddam sings like a canary, identifying the perpetrators of insurgency.
Computer would generate....
Saddam is obviously being tortured by his American captors. Or else, they are lying about his testimony and justifying their own persecution of innocent Iraqis on the basis of his alleged “confession". (Note to broadcasters: these hypotheses need not be stated baldly. They can simply be hinted at or implied by leading questions and incredulous facial expressions.)"
This is so true today. We really don't need the lefty reporters any more. Since we already know exactly what they are going to say in any given situation why not just have a computer program churn it out? Type in a subject, and any possible scenario, and the program would spit out the news story complete with lies, falsehoods, innuendo, cynicism, and misinterpreted sound bite's.

One hundred years ago today, these guys proved that heavier than air powered flight was possible. 61 years later, we built this thing with slide rules and protractors. If that doesn't leave you in complete awe and full of a healthy dose of pride, well, you probably live in Europe....

"A meme is rapidly emerging -- the meme that Iraqis judging Iraqis is a thing lacking "legitimacy." It's closely related to the meme that Arabs and Muslims cannot handle liberal, secular democracy; it's closely related to the meme that nothing whatsoever associated with the President of the United States is trustworthy or true. It's a meme meant to snatch the judgment of Saddam Hussein from his victims and hand it over to those same institutions whose counsel would have left him in power today. It's a disgusting, vile meme, propagated by the likes of Joe Conason, who predicts that the tyrant on trial will put forth the rhetoric of a Dean Democrat:....."

"Yes, it's all coming back to me now... I remember the day when Bush sent out his roving bands of CIA/FBI paramilitary forces who pulled me out of my car, beat me without mercy to within an inch of my life, then hung me above a running industrial plastic shredder while I watched my entire family (females dressed in burkas!) being shot in the back of their heads then dumped into a mass grave... He left me alive to warn the others about him!
Unbelievable... I'm starting to think that their idea of Human Rights abuse is being asked for their license by the police when they get pulled over for speeding. Or maybe it just might be that 5 minute wait for a Mocha Frappucino at the nearest coffe shop..."
