Dragonhorse

The dragonfly who imagined himself a winged horse…

Dragonfly medicine is of the dreamtime and the illusionary façade we accept as physical reality...

If you feel the need for change, call on Dragonfly to guide you through the mists of illusion to the pathway of transformation. See how you can apply the art of illusion to your present question or situation, and remember that things are never completely as they seem.

Looking back, looking forward

I was supposed to work on a writing exercise: If you were to meet the person you were 10 years ago, what would you say to her? I have to say I’ve found this… well, depressing. Though I’ve accomplished much in 10 years, there have been tough setbacks. Professionally, I began freelancing 10 years ago, with no clients and with a condo worth much less than I paid for it. Over the years, I built up my client base and reputation, but in 2001 the work dwindled and now there’s no telling when it will pick up enough to call it a success. On the plus side, my condo is worth a whole lot more, minus what I’ve borrowed against it. So am I better off? Possibly, but I’m not sure 10 years’ worth better off.

And personally? I’ve learned a lot, worked through a lot of “stuff,” and had interesting experiences. My relationship with my mother is better, in a way, since Alzheimer’s has taken away her relentless need to “fix” me. Clearly a mixed blessing. Ten years ago, I returned alone to my own condo after living with someone for two years. Today, my love life remains in flux, an enigma.

All in all, if I were to come across my 35-year-old self today, I think I’d pull on my dark glasses and look inconspicuous until she passed by. Maybe in a couple of years I’ll look her up and tell her it’ll all be worthwhile.
