Senate Campaign News 20040820



After yesterday's flurry of news, today was kind of quiet.

Doug Gallagher's campaign has released radio and television ads that pick up on a line he used in the debate, that of McCollum and Martinez being the M & M boys. The advertisements call McCollum a career politician and Martinez a trial lawyer. The ad has triggered hand-wringing all around the other major campaigns as they released disparaging remarks about each other.

On the Democratic side, Peter Deutsch spoke his most critical words to date over Betty Castor's handling of Sami Al-Arian.: "As a human being you have a responsibility to stop evil. I think on a human basis, it's a failure".
