RELYING ON THE WEB

Yesterday Jeff Jarvis brought news of a discouraging Gallup poll showing falling trust in the media (scroll down).

Today, Neel Garlapati at OnlineJournalism.com reports:

More than three-quarters of Americans believe reading a news story on the Internet is as good as reading it in a newspaper or maybe even better, according to a "Generational Media Study," by the Online Publishers Association.  The study also found that almost half of all Americans aged 18 to 24 would turn to the Internet first for national news.

The grain of salt: the results are from an online survey.
