Axis of Evil Knievel

All of Washington awaits the report by the independent 9/11 commission, scheduled to be released on Thursday.

One of its conclusions will reportedly be that as many as ten of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers were allowed to travel through Iran without having their passports stamped before the attacks, so as not to arouse suspicion from US immigration official.

According to David Stout in the NY Times:

"Of course, we want to know all the facts," Mr. Bush said. . . . "We will continue to look and see if the Iranians were involved."

Iran/Iraq, Slovenia/Slovakia, Kazakhstan/Kirgizstan, what's the difference?  Don't bother with the facts, just pull up those old Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney and Powell speeches on the monitor, do a global search-and-replace on country name, and we can get on with our next pre-emptive war -- right after the election, of course.
