is it really over? Say it ain't so! [posted by Troy] I've just received news via Davenport that the Chronicles of the Brewer 3 is dead. The site's owner has thrown in the towel. Very sad. We'll miss spying on the lives of the Brewers.

The wonder of Ebay (from Gaper's Block) [posted by Troy] As they say in real estate: location, location, location. Who hasn't dreamed of being a strip club owner, and what a better location could you want than Peoria, Illinois???? Well, here's your chance. Thanks to ebay, you can buy this strip club in Peoria.

They are mean enough to themselves [posted by Troy] Check out this economist article about Obama vs Keyes for Senator from Illinois. The article predicts this race "will produce nothing but disaster—humiliation for Mr Keyes, more pie on the face of the already pie-covered Illinois Republican Party, and yet another setback for Republican efforts to woo minority voters." Hey, this is from the economist.

The idealism of youth [posted by Troy] Very interesting that my SUV post got more comments than anything I've put on here in a while. Are all SUVs bad? Is a little polution ok? Should we all just ride our bikes all the time? Why do we have environmental laws on a state by state basis when we all share the planet? What kind of power source is creating the electricity that is running the computer screen you are using to look at this Web site (fossil fuel or nuclear)? I wonder? I have several friends that can justify anything they do with any ideal they hold, even if their actions directly go against that ideal. I could say many things to try to justify owning this particular SUV, but I don't feel that I need to.
