Part Two [Posted by Kim]
I know this is very soon after the last Photo of the Moment but I had to prove that Nathan was indeed on my right. I noticed something funny however when I was searching for this photo. Now, is it just me or is Nathan shooting himself in the head with his finger? I must have been boring him to death! Sorry Nathan! =)

Uptown, Ourtown [posted by Troy] Actually, Kim and I live on the border of the Uptown and Lakeview neighborhoods. Here is a story from Chicago Publi Radio about lowerclass residents in Uptown. Thus, this is particularly interesting to us. I, for one, think we need to be sure that we allow people who have supported this neighborhood for years can live here. They shouldn't be pushed out of their homes by property taxes and condos. Here's the quote from the WBEZ Web site:
"Forty-Sixth Ward alderman Helen Shiller wants to turn an old CTA yard in Chicago's Uptown into a mixed-use, mixed-income development. But opponents say the neighborhood already has an abundance of housing for lower-income and middle-class residents."

Memorial Day Revisited [posted by Troy] Ever since our Memorial Day bike trip (see this post), I've been meaning to get these photos on here. If you'll remember, Ben and his head had a disagreement with a railroad bridge. Nine stitches later, Ben was awarded with a great scar. These are the two photos taken after Ben returned from the hospital. I repeat, these are old photos. These are not recent injuries.

Notice the blood on the jersey. Very tough.

Ben is looking at you!!

This is an advertisement! [posted by Troy] Ok, I've posted my complaints about fortune cookies before (see 2nd post on August 17th). Most of the time these things are NOT fortunes. Ok, this one takes the cake. Here's my "fortune" in tonight's fortune cookie: "Promote literacy. Buy a box of fortune cookies today." Jordan and Kim can confirm this! Not kidding. However, the cookie that contained this fortune may have been the freshest and tastiest fortune cookie I've eaten in several years. Like, it really tasted like a real cookie, not flavored plastic. For real. It was good.
