Classic? [posted by Troy] Today I heard an add for Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor, which is being performed on Navy Pier. In this add, they called this "one of Shakespeare's classic plays." Classic? I really got to wondering whether or not you had to call any of Shakespeare's plays "classic." I mean, really, come on, doesn't a play by Shakespeare automatically qualify as classic. Afterall, The Merry Wives of Windsor may not even make the top the Shakespeare plays. It's for sure out of the top five.
