Newsweek Review [posted by Troy] I just got done reading this review of Pearl Jam's new album in Newsweek. It appears that this release is one of their strongest in recent years, and it is increasingly political. I haven't heard much about it until this article appeared.

Some People Say "Yes" [posted by Troy] I happen to know that some people cannot stand the taste of Cilantro. Actually, this is one area of the culinary world where Kim and I disagree. I won't say which one of us HATES cilantro, but I will say that it shows up in almost all food produced by fomer Spanish colonies, which is unfortunate. Well, those cilantro haters of the world are not alone. A new Web site Ihatecilantro.com is giving a voice to the vioceless. Fight the cilantro power!

Never Again? [posted by Troy] Not too long ago, we were watching HBO's mini-series Band of Brothers, and we saw the episode where the 502nd liberated one of the concentration camps. After this, I thought of books like Night and Sophie's Choice which tell of the horrors of the Holocaust. I thought of the promises that this will never happen again. Then, it happened in the 1970s in Cambodia with the Khmer Rouge and again 1994 in Rwanda. The world did nothing. But, it is happening again right now and the world has been slow to act. In Darfu, millions of innocent people are being killed, but Americans know so little about the problems. We are afraid to send troops, but each day costs many lives. I find it sad. If you bump into your representatives to Congress sometime soon, mention this to them.
