Almost Ready
Christmas Eve! And everything seems to be in order. The gifts are under the tree (all but one which I still need to wrap), the food is waiting to be cooked and all that's left is a bit of tidying up.
It will be a simple affair: just the five of us this year. Tonight we'll sit around and play games, eat tortiere and Christmas cookies, and get a bit tipsy on pomegranate martinis. Tomorrow, after the present opening and a breakfast of eggs bennie, we'll do a bit of visiting and come back home for dinner: we've replaced the traditional turkey with two organic chickens this year. I purchased them at a price that would make even baby Jesus cry, so they'd better be good!!
