Darkness It's getting harder and harder to get up in the mornings. I'm sure it's the darkness. The good news of course is that there are only a couple more days to go before things start to turn around. But I really do believe that humans are meant to use this darkness as a time of introspective. Instead, we're so busy running around like chickens with our heads cut off getting ready for Christmas that we completely miss something that's vital.
Actually, it wasn't all that crazy at our house over the week-end. Jamie and I made fudge, so now my Christmas baking is just about complete. Iris and I went out for eggs benedict (our ritual meal) and had a really good talk - the best we've had in months. And Joe and I got the tree (we cheated and bought one from the tree lot at Canadian Tire). We'll likely decorate it tonight if I can round up the troops and convince them to all stay home for an evening.
