Sanctuary's Debut
Alan's band Sanctuary had their first paying gig on New Year's Eve. They played at a 'Battle of the Bands' type affair along with six or seven other bands. Alan said he was incredibly nervous (he wouldn't let us go because he said it would make him even more nervous) until about half way through, when he started to relax and enjoy himself. They played for about half an hour or so.
Alan said the reaction was good, especially to their original material. And the more established bands gave them lots of support and encouragement. Nemesis, which is the metal band that's been around the longest here and has the biggest following, told the crowd that these 'new kids on the block' kick ass, at which point a huge cheer went up.
After it was over, another band asked Sanctury to be their opening act for their upcoming CD release party, and then Nemesis asked that other band to be the opening act for them AND Sanctury! Too funny.
