Yesterday was still very cold, but today the weather changed completely. It's sunny, there is a clear blue sky, no wind and a very nice temperature. This afternoon I was driving to a meeting with my car window's open! At 4 PM the temperature was still 15 degrees (according to Yahoo!), not very high, but very nice after the 0 degrees we had during the past days.

In Hong Kong it's possible to buy license plates with your preferred combination of letters and numbers. Yesterday a license plate with just the number 12 was auctioned off. In Cantonese that number sounds like 'certainly easy', and that's why a high bid was expected. A mysterious man, wearing a surgical mask to prevent people from recognizing him, eventually won the bid by paying USD 910,000 for the plate. He left the auction right after winning without identifying himself to the public or press. It was not the highest amount ever paid for a license plate. That honour goes to HK tycoon Albert Yeung who in 1994 paid almost HK$ 13 million (USD 1.7 million) for a license plate with the single digit 9.
