News.com publishes list of Top 100 Blogs
TOP100BLOGS.jpg

Yet another Top 100 list from News.com publishes the Top 100 Blogs list. These types of list are usually so self-selecting that you rarely find any new treasures but surprisingly enough there are a few good unknowns (at least to me) from the list. I'll leave you to find your own gems.

With more than 14 million blogs in existence and another 80,000 being created each day, how is a person supposed to find the ones worth reading?

Blogs have become an important source of information, but the signal-to-noise ratio makes it hard to find the gems. In our pursuit, we spent weeks checking out technology-oriented blogs based on the recommendations from our reporters and readers.

Of course, such a list is bound to generate vigorous agreement and vehement dissent. It's impossible to even get universal agreement on the definition of a blog.

How Mac users approach doing design work in Macromedia Flash

Some heavy kudos to the folks behind this amazing Flash site - modeled after our favorite operating system. Take a minute to explore the the fine attention to detail in this site.

Check out the Spotlight section for some extra eye-candy. They've even included an iChat enabled shout-box where your IM messages show up directly within this flash application.

To anyone who has never designed something in Flash, let me assure you that designing something with this level of detail is far from easy but the result shows, Nice work!

Tricking Out Your iPod Nano
ipod-nano-accessories.jpg MacWorld has penned a piece describing some of the new accessories hitting the market for the new iPod Nano.

From the article:

Every new iPod model triggers avalanches of accessories and other add-ons from third-party firms, and the iPo nano is no different

Already the likes of Tunewear, Speck Products and Digital Lifestyle Outfitters are aiming to get nano gear in stores this fall.

It has always amazed me, going back to the very first iPod, how quickly the market races to fill in the voids in the iPod product line but I've seen anything like the iPod nano after market. Within 2 weeks of the Nano's introduction, numerous accessories could be found on display at Mac Expo Paris. Personally, I've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Apple Lanyard Headphones which arrived just yesterday. More to come on that snappy accessory.
