Damn the appearance of Monday! I was having a nice weekend, and
it had to come along and end it. Oh well. I did have an
extra long weekend. Here are some of the highlights.
- Friday was a comp day for me. Since I had to come in and
take care of a server in the wee hours of last Saturday, my boss gave
me the day off. I promptly went to get my oil changed at O'Donnell Honda.
I must admit that in my two dealings with O'Donnell, I have been
impressed. They even gave me a car wash. That's
awesome!
I also took care of a couple of other errands. I had dinner that
evening with a very good friend, and I had a wonderful time with the
people I met over dinner.
- Saturday was a busy day, too. I woke up at 9:30 AM to hop online and buy tickets to see U2.
Unlike a couple of my coworkers, I succeeded in my quest with
TicketBastard. I must admit, though, that I am still numb from
the price of tickets and how much I paid for four tickets. It
should be a fun show, as I have never seen them before.
I had a co-rec football game to play in at 1:00 PM. Continuing
the trend that was set in my men's league earlier this winter, we lost
the game. I still had three receptions, for a touchdown and
two-point conversion. I also saw one of my teammates make a great
catch to set up that touchdown. We need more girls on our team,
and some more focused play-calling.
In the evening, I stopped by to see some friends at the Cross Street
Market, and then headed over to Canton to make an appearance at
Cardwell's for a birthday party. That was a good time, but I was
so sore and tired, I could not wait to get home into bed.
- Sunday was pretty fun, as I enjoyed the weather and went to check
out the festivities downtown for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day
holiday. I saw the winner of the 180s Shamrock 5K race zoom by me. The winner finished in under 15 minutes, and I am still shaking my head over that one.
I also saw the St. Patrick's Day Parade
in downtown Baltimore. In all my years living here, I never did
that. It was a little cold, but I had a good time with my
friends. I also was able to enjoy some post-parade celebrating at
the James Joyce Pub. That was just some training for the Guinness consumption that I will undertake on Thursday.
It was disappointing to get up this morning, but this week is a bit
busy since I have a short week and I need to turn some things in.
