Inadvertently Preventing Contact Someone reminded me the other day that having my AOL Instant Messenger Screenname on my blog did not make much sense.  They reminded me that I tend to be a bit of a hardass when it comes to instant messaging.  I did not want to be bothered by people not in my buddy list.  I think I did this when I received some spim (Spam via Instant Messenger).  Well, if I want those 8 people who read my blog to IM me, this sort of makes it difficult, doesn't it?  I have fixed it, but I have not verified that it now works.  Anyone out there not on my Buddy List care to IM me?  1:27:44 PM    comment []  trackback []

Wedding Dilemmas I have a friend getting married in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida next month.  I have always promised a visit to him, and I have yet to deliver.  We were discussing this via email earlier this morning, and he was making sure I knew of my promise.  My only issue has been the hotel stay.  I must admit that when the wedding originally came up, I was thinking I would be able to split a room with one of my buddies coming in from Boston.  That plan fell through, so I have been procrastinating on making this decision ever since.  I think I will just add to my debt and do this trip.  I have not seen my buddy since last year, and this wedding is the only wedding that will require expensive travel this year.  So, I think I will bite the bullet.  Of course, a new high-paying job would be great, too.  ;-) 9:51:53 AM    comment []  trackback []

Badgers on the Tourney Bubble To my friend in blogging and college hockey, Broadsheet, I thought I would post the following update.  For those of you who have no idea what hockey is, you have been sufficiently warned.  In the Hockey East tournament, Boston University won two of three games from Providence College to advance to a semifinal match with the University of New Hampshire on Thursday.  Go BU!  In the rankings released on Monday, USCHO.com has BU ranked 9th in the Men's D-I poll while the Wisconsin Badgers are ranked 11th.  In the USCHO.com PairWise rankings, the Badgers are on the NCAA Hockey Tournament bubble, while the Terriers are firmly ensconced at the 8th spot in those rankings.  And for my Monday email reading, my fellow BU alum sent me a very nice review of the new arena at BU.  I might need to get up there for a game next season.  9:33:36 AM    comment []  trackback []
