I had a fun time in Chicago over the weekend. I was able to see
Wrigley Field and experience the fun that is Wrigleyville right beyond
the outfield walls. I picked up some souvenirs to bring home to people,
and I picked up a souvenir or two myself. I am now confining
myself to a routine of detoxification after the amount of alcohol
consumed. Of course, the alcohol consumption led to way too much
burrito consumption. Damn you, Chicago!!!
Wrigley Field was an awesome experience. A sea of Cubs fans, with
all sorts of various Cubs gear was in attendance. I am jealous of
the fervent fan support in Chicago, especially when I saw maybe a
handful of Brewers fans in attendance. Compared to Camden Yards
during a Red Sox game, I am truly jealous. Our fair ballpark gets
overrun by the out-of-town fans.
One of the souvenirs I bought was a cool Cubs hat, with the logo
circo 1914. I must admit that in addition to my usual stable of
Orioles hats through the years, I had a Cubs hat. It's been quite
a few years since I had it, but I found it a classy hat. One of
the best souvenirs I bought, though, was this t-shirt.
Everytime I wear it, I will be doing my Harry Caray impersonation, with
the occasional sprinking of Will Ferrell's Caray impersonation found in
this sketch. (Be careful, the video clip is quite large.)
