I keep seeing other people start to have fun with Del.ici.ous lately, and I keep meaning to use it as a tool for both work and personal reasons. I, of course, have yet to find the be-all end-all definitive source for using it. If anyone can point me in the right direction, leave a comment.

I have had some time to experiment with the OPML Editor I talked about last week.  One of the features is to create a blog using this tool.  I have created a simple one, and I have done very little in the way of customizing it to this point.  Nonetheless, here is the product of my thin efforts.

Following up to a brief conversation I had with Snay and even lengthier back and forth in the comments on this post, I decided to do some research on the existence of full-text feeds for Movable Type blogs.  I will not belabor the point I have made in the past concerning my desire for full-text feeds, as eebmore knows this all too well.

In doing some Googling on this topic, I found some interesting articles that would address this issue with ease.  The short version of this how-to is that one would merely have to edit the RSS template for any feed and replace $MTEntryExcerpt with $MTEntryBody, as is pointed out in the comments here

A much more detailed tutorial can be found here.  The same post also describes as to how the problem does not exist for Blogtimore readers but does exist for those individuals who use aggregators with the RSS feeds.  As the post states:
"The default RSS 1.0 and RSS 2.0 syndication feed templates for MT version 3.x produces a feed with the content in your MT entry body. The default Atom feed template produces a feed with both the entry body and the extended entry. The default RSS 1.0 and RSS 2.0 feeds in MT version 2.661 generated feeds with only the entry excerpt."

Blogtimore uses the Atom feed for Malnurtured Snay.  Thus, it does not exhibit the behavior that other aggregators do.  The below screenshot shows this quite clearly.

Please let me know if you need help to make the change.

I spent the weekend "downy oshun" to see my family.  I took my Better Half along to meet some of my family that she has not met yet, and all went well.  It was good to see my old friends--my cousin, her husband, and her new baby.  The last time I saw them was when they came down for the christening of their new son.

It was good to see them, and they reminded me of a potential visit to lovely Buffalo, New York.  I will have to figure out how to work that in somehow in the coming months.  Even better, my Better Half had a good time, and I did too.

My blog entries are a bit late this evening, mostly as a result of my workstation at home locking up on login.  I sincerely hope that Radio Userland considers a hosted posting solution.  I like the desktop solution, as I am not tethered to one machine.  The problem, though, comes in accessibility from multiple machines.

I think I will take some time in the fall before my renewal to ponder other solutions to my blogging choices.  Do I want a hosted solution, where I can configure everything with the software package of my choosing?  Would I prefere a solution where someone else does the hosting?  I know Blogger will be out of the running for sure.
