I gotta have more cowbell.

I got an email from the team captain for my Co-Rec Touch Football team, More Cowbell.  We are in dire need of female players for this Saturday's game at 3 PM.  If anyone is interested--not that I think any of my readers will be--feel free to contact me offline via the information to the right of this post.

I cannot promise you much.  I can guarantee you cheap beer, cool people to hang with, and sweaty football goodness.

Today at the office, after taking care of my file system organization task, I received a roster of our current staff.  Essentially, we need to setup some distribution groups within Exchange to allow for easier communication.  No need to select all employees, just send an email to appropriate group, and the message gets delivered to everybody.  It is pretty easy to do, but the consultants--my predecessors here--did not do anything like that.

Well, on this roster were a list of our managers.  Guess whose name was listed?  Mine: Jason Thomas.  How scary is that?  I am a manager.  I am management.

Dear Fellow Jones Falls Commuters,

I just wanted to drop you all a line after my first month on my new job.  I have thoroughly enjoyed how smooth a commute it has been.  I know there will be the occasional rough patch from time to time, but I must admit that I like what I have experienced so far.  I have even caught myself snickering at my fellow southbound commuters as they head into the city, dealing with stop-and-go traffic.

There are a couple of things I must address.  First, why must I always wind up behind someone doing 50 MPH in the left-hand lane around Cold Spring Lane?  It never fails that I will be cruising along quite nicely, but I am soon behind some lolly-gagger who has decided that the morning rush hour is their time for a leisurely drive in the left-lane.  Inevitably, this slow driver is in my way until just before I approach the I-695 split.  I do not ask for much, but isn't it apparent that you may be driving too slow in the left-lane when there are four cars stacked behind you??

The second issue I have to address is the desire for rather large vehicles to remain in the left lane of I-83.  I don't ask for much, but did the flatbed trailer have to remain in the left lane of I-83 from I-695 until my exit at Shawan Road?  I thought there was a law/sign that prevented such things on certain Maryland roads.  Maybe you thought that since you are heading to Pennsyltucky you can easily ignore that thing and just go nice and slow in the left-lane.

So, I beseech you my fellow commuters, please stay out of the left lane if you are a large and/or slow-moving vehicle.  I and my other fellow commuters will thank you later.

Respectfully yours,
JJT
