I gotta have more cowbell.

Well, I came into the office this morning and was greeted with an email from my boss to report back to our audit location this morning.  I replied with an apology that I was already at the home office, but that I would head down later this morning and spend the afternoon there.

Eventually, I will check my email at the new job as regularly as I checked the email at the old job: checking it from home all the time.

Following that, it will be time for drinks.

I realize that this is the third time I have posted about this, but the rare charitable manner in which I find myself of late is quite persistent.  Again, thanks to the efforts of our intrepid planners, Jennetic and Zenchick, the September Blogger Happy Hour is tonight.

Where: Sláinte, 1700 Thames St, Baltimore, MD  21231

When: Thursday, 29 September 2005 5:00-9:00 PM

Why: Portion of the Proceeds to Benefit the American Red Cross

So, in my last attempt at pleading with my reading public, come out and join the Baltimore Blogger Community as they gather to drink with an altruistic purpose--the assistance of our fellow citizens in their time of need following the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  For each pint, bottle, cocktail, and soda we imbibe, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Red Cross.

Bring your friends, family, co-workers, significant other, or whomever else you wish.  Come raise a glass of cheer in the hope that it will ultimately cheer up others who need help.  At the very least, you can at least speed up the inevitable decline of your liver and brain cells.

I noticed that on Monday and Tuesday, various city workers were posting "No Parking" signs on one side of Fort Avenue.  The signs continued for a nice stretch until Charles Street, then the signs continued north on Charles Street.  None of my neighbors had any idea why the signs were up, and I was determined what was preventing people from parking on this rather long stretch from 5 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, 1 October.

On my way into work this morning, one of those light-bulb-over-the-head moments occurred and I suddenly realized why these signs were posted.  Saturday is the Komen Maryland Race for the Cure, and the route for the race follows the signs.

Now I know.  And knowing is half the battle....
