Scobleizer Weblog

My fiance is so great. She sends me the most fabulous love letters. I've been trying to convince her to start a weblog, but she says she's a private person. Hey, we can all get her back. Post here in the comments and let her know she should come out of hiding. Yes, I'm very honored. This is the first time I've had poetry written about me. It's a weird feeling.

Anyway, she's getting more brave. She let me post this poem here. Oh, and she reads me and RageBoy every day. Hmmm. I gotta keep my eyes on RageBoy.

Robert Scoble's EyeGreen Promises

Your eyes are the green promises of my days.

Arcadias of desire,
On whose peaceful green
My heart goes out to play.

Your eyes are a pair of brave soldiers,
clad in green,
They stand with daggers drawn
against the vast armies of doubt.

I can read the invisible, fleeting lines,
tangible only to me,
that trace your passion,
in the simmering depths
of those distant oceans.
They are oceans…
No; universes of lucid green thought.
Time is of no essence there;
Truth crystallizes into eternity.

Each gaze launches a thousand waves,
brushing against the sandy shores.
They invoke the mystic cadence of life,
that pervades the silence between us.

I can hear the sweet murmur of their melody,
resonating with warmth,
reverberating of light.
Their beckoning, caressing, seductive music,
lures in the passerby.
And so spellbound I step in
to those green spheres calling on to me.
Much as a sleepwalker would,
to some enchanting isle of fantasy.

The entrancing green stare pulls me into deep
Luscious green treasures await me there
They lust for life and entertain love
I rise to meet your eyes…

The blogosphere lost a blogger today (Beth Goza's Weblog has been pulled down, probably in reaction to the issues that Doc is talking about). It's sad that in the corporate world we don't have true freedom of speech. I sure can't say what I want here about a whole lot in my life.

Strange, I'm getting reports that my RSS feed is messed up. In fact, when I click on the XML icon on my home page, I'm seeing an error there too. I wonder what went wrong. It was working great yesterday. Oh, I see that they rolled out a new Radio UserLand feature today. Got some diggin to do, as Dave says. I'll start with updating root. Update: it's fixed now. Thanks to JT for first reporting it.

Hey, my division at NEC makes the news again, this time by announcing a deal with RealNetworks. That reminds me, I gotta get an upgrade for my PocketPC. If only PR like this would translate into sales (will anyone buy a PocketPC device just cause it has the Real player on it?). In other non-news, we also joined the PocketPC price war. Dell is selling our PocketPC now for $357 (way down from its original price of $599). Hey, what's Dell selling an NEC for?

I got a standing-room-only ticket to Game 5 of the World Series. I didn't have to sleep with anyone, but I did have to give them my stock-market profits from today (I bought NTAP on Monday, which went up 11% today).

Guy Haas did a redesign based on my templates. Isn't CSS cool? Now that I have a good framework, I can easily change things around. Hate my color scheme? I can change it in one place and it'll instantly change on every page.

Slipstick systems' site has quite a bit of information on Office 11. Looks cool for us office workers.
