Dan Gillmor, of the San Jose Mercury News, was chatting with me the other morning and gave me a great tip: visit find.com. I've been using it now for several days and it has changed how I search for things. It uses Google and searches your own hard drives. It displays query results in a little app that gives you a preview. Plus, it does a lot more. I won't bother listing all the things it does right now. Dan's column in tomorrow's Mercury News will tell more.
While I'm on cool things, I've been using an app called "Picasa" to show my friends all the digital photos I've taken. It's a copy of Apple's iPhoto, but that's OK. I have Windows and Windows sucks for finding and displaying your digital photos. Picasa is an operating system for digital photos.
I told Chris Pirillo at Lockergnome/TechTV about Picasa and he immediately shot back "dude, you gotta try PhotoMeister." He mumbled something about it blowing Picasa away. So, I had to try this out. I agree with Chris, although the two apps are complimentary. Picasa is a better way to index all the photos on your hard drive. PhotoMeister is a better app for your digital photo workflow (cleaning up images, cropping them, etc).
Both PhotoMeister and Picasa have free trials. If you have a digital camera, I highly recommend trying them out.
I agree with Dave's brother. That was an awesome game and worth every bit of the $275 I paid for the ticket. Now it's onto tonight's game. I can't wait. Unfortunately I have to pick my dad up from the airport at 5 so I'll miss some of it.
