Weird, if you search Google UK for sex blogging, I'm the top link, but I'm 11th on the list on Google here in the US. Interesting cause I really don't talk about sex here much. But, I'd rather be known as a sex blogger than a war blogger. More sex, less war, is my motto! By the way, I notice that most people (myself included) are less comfortable with having children see sex on TV than violence. Shouldn't it be the other way around? I'd rather see people making love on TV than blowing each other away. Wouldn't that be a better society? Is that what that damn sniper is trying to say?

Interesting weblog conversation about innovation in the PocketPC space. I doubt you'll see all that much innovation anymore and agree with some of the comments. Why? Well with Dell coming into the market at $199 and $299 the market is seeing extreme price pressure. Most people think computer manufacturers make gobs of money. Not true. In fact, the reverse is true. Anyway, things are progressing even as the industry enters a price war (Dell is selling our PDA now for almost what it cost them to buy it from us). Screens are getting better. Wireless is getting added. Processor speed is going up. Ain't Moore's law grand? Hey, for $360 now you can get a really nice PDA that used to cost $549 just six months ago. Not bad!

Hey, Marc Canter, here's another whiskey party for you!

If you ever think your life sucks, go and read this MetaFilter thread on the aftermath of a drunk driving accident. Jacqueline Saburido is an amazing human. The other night I witnessed a drunk driving hit and run. No one was hurt, but it made me remember how fast life can change (and reminded me that Mr. Murphy is always lurking). Enjoy life this weekend, but please don't drive drunk.

You know, in the blogosphere we expect everyone to be computer literate. Over and over lately I've been reminded that most people aren't computer geeks. I answer the phones here at NEC's Mobile Solutions group and it's quite an interesting experience to try to sell computers to people who don't yet have a computer. It amazes me everytime I talk to people who have never been on the Web. Yes, they exist and in fairly large numbers. I take so much for granted here. By the way most of the things I help people with I find on Google. If I posted the questions I get here more of you would unsubscribe from my news feeds than if I posted pictures of my hickeys, as Brent is worried about.

Here's a preview of the next Windows Media Player for PocketPC.

Paul Boutin is at Pop!Tech. I wanna be there. The video feed sucks, by the way. Paul has linked to the other bloggers there.

NEC is looking for folks who are building apps for the TabletPC. If you have some, please contact me at robertscoble@hotmail.com. Particularly if you'll have something interesting ready by early November.

Oh, in the "angst" category we have the continuing two-spaces-or-one-after-a-period argument. Read the comments over at the Fuzzy Blog. Does anyone else find that putting formatting codes to try to increase the space after a period is just offensive? Plus, I disagree with the thesis that it makes text easier to read. White space stops the eye. People with white spaces in their text make their text ugly.

Brent Ashley says I've moved into being a "zits-and-angst" blogger. Hmmm, probably so. Come back in November. At least we'll have TabletPCs to talk about.

I am bummed I'm not at Pop!Tech, but I can watch the streaming video here, which is the next best thing.
