I chose the title of this site to be optimistic, as I was coming out of a crummy year. It's interesting to see that I now own the phrase on Google.

(I also own 'pretending to have depth'!)

Once again, Jon Udell is able to explain a concept that I understand but have never been able to put into words satisfactorily.

The hardest part about learning a programming language is not the syntrax, it's learning how to visualize solutions in the programming language. It's learning how to map previous concepts onto a new environment. It's learning how to recognize the bits that are necessary, and the bits that are just crutches that have been used to overcome shortcomings in previous languages.

I'm not sure that made any sense, but I'll post it anyway.

(Hey Jon! You can count me as a fan!)

Looks like they're leaking about the 'World Outline' stuff again. They're calling it 'Instant Outlining.'

Check out the FAQ.

It's got a screen shot that gives away more... It looks like it's leveraging a bunch of already built-in stuff.

You know, the secret about everything UserLand is doing is that it's almost completely already there. If you have a copy of Radio, you almost have it all. You are just missing a few magical little incantations.

This is called leverage, folks. This is code reuse in action. This is the maelstrom that occurs when the critical point is reached. From here on out the features should just burst into being.

You just have to see it. I'm doing what I can to surf that wave.

Speaking of watching the referer log, I keep getting hits from a webtrends server. I wonder what that's about?

I admit it, I habitually check my referer logs. I get a log of hits from Google using the term "Radio Python IDE," and that's cool, that's exactly what I want. But there are some weirder things showing up, like "python mail bomb script..."

Wow. I'm not first for that result, but I'm on the front page.

"Disturbing Search Requests" indeed.
