US Pledge of Allegiance Ruled Unconstitutional. Millions of American schoolchildren --- including almost all adults who grew up in the US --- have for two generations recited a daily pledge of allegiance in schools. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals today ruled that pledge to be a violation of the US Constitution. Social conservatives are outraged, liberals are smirking, and many of us are just stunned. Despite the "smirking" comment, the news coverage I've seen says that the liberal politicians are just as outraged. Personally, I think it's about time. Now if only they would also rule that "In God We Trust" on our money is un-Constitutional.

A Treatise on Marxism-Leninism: Marx's Later Days. With Marx's early days behind us, it is now time to turn to his later days. For those who were waiting until we could meet Engels, your wait is over. Section One: Foreword and Chapter I [kuro5hin.org]

The continuation of the earlier joke biography of Karl Marx. Complete with nasty comments from Communists with no sense of humour.
