Photo Purports to Show Baby Bomber. Israel's army released a photograph purporting to show a Palestinian baby dressed like a suicide bomber with ammunition belts and explosives strapped to its body and a head band of the Islamic militant group Hamas. [AP World News] Despite the use of "purports" in the title, the article says that even the Palestinians believe it's real. This picture is something to keep in mind any time some politician from America or Europe talks about peace with the Palestinians as a possibility. I doubt if even the Germans ever dressed their babies as concentration camp guards. comment () trackback ()  12:55:52 PM     U.S. Threatens to U.N. Veto. The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations has threatened to shut down peacekeeping operations in Bosnia with a rare Security Council veto if U.S. peacekeepers are not granted immunity from the world's first permanent war crimes tribunal. [AP World News] I don't think the US should be providing troops to support UN colonialism in Bosnia under any circumstances. However, I think it's a bit silly to demand immunity, because doing so is granting the International Criminal Court a legitimacy it doesn't deserve. I believe a better strategy would be to simply issue a statement that any attempt to kidnap US citizens will be regarded as an act of war. comment () trackback ()  9:00:44 AM
