Here's a story that won't be getting much coverage from the mainstream media:

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. -- A suicidal sophomore student was arrested Friday after he briefly held about 25 classmates and two teachers hostage at gunpoint, police said.

The unidentified boy was tackled by two classmates, who took a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic gun from him, police Sgt. John Allen said.

No injuries were reported.

New York Protest against Hugo Chavez (thanks to Pablo).

Pablo sent in this photo (and more in the Pictures section) of the protest in New York City on Thursday while Hugo Cahvez was at the UN it was cold!!!

[Miguel Octavio: Venezuela]

Sure enough, there was no mention of this in the US media.

I just learned of the Safari Ching Sling. The main advantage (for me) over the earlier Ching Sling is that it only requires two sling swivels, unlike the three swivels of the earlier model. My "Steyr Scout" rifle uses the earlier version, and I've found that it works quite well.
