MS-NBC - Wal-Mart to push for RFID adoption. Retail giant to throw weight behind wireless tracking of goods June 5 -- Inventory management technology that uses wireless signals to track products from the factory to store shelves is set to win a major new ally next week: Wal-Mart. The retail giant is expected to throw its weight behind RFID (radio frequency identification) technology at the Retail Systems 2003 industry conference in Chicago on Tuesday. I didn't see the word privacy mentioned once in the article. [Privacy Digest]
I guess I won't be shopping at Wal-Mart in the future.

Fred Bayles at USA Today -
Pilots say TSA disrupting gun training - pilots are now allowed by
federal law to carry guns on airplanes, but they must go through
training first, at the behest of the Taking Scissors Away folks, who
appear to be doing their best to delay that training. [kaba] [End the War on Freedom]
It's hardly surprising that the Terrorist Safety Administration is interfering with the training. It's purpose is to ensure that passengers are unable to defend themselves against terrorists, so it's only natural they would also want to keep the pilots from defending themselves.
