CAPPSII Testing on Back Burner. The Transportation Security Administration has shelved plans to test a system for screening all airline flights for potential terrorists until a policy is created to protect the privacy of passengers. By Michelle Delio. [Wired News]
This just means the government will spend some time writing up a hundred pages of legalese, unreadable by ordinary people, saying that the government can do whatever it wants. Once the heat has died down, the Terrorist Safety Administration will quietly start using the system.
