A Picture in Mind

Artist Paras Kaul adds her brain waves into the mix in creating imagery. Sounds like a big fat gimick to me ~ on the other hand her latest work debuts at the Kennedy Center on August 1, so maybe I'll go see what's up with it. Unfortunately, the images included with the Wired article look like pretty run-of-the-mill Photoshop/video art stuff. At least she did it all on Macs!

"Some day, we will all be communicating non-verbally," said Kaul. "When that happens, our communications will be much more truthful and emotional."

(Some of us already do.) I have to say I get sort of aggravated by this woo-woo approach to neurobiology and art.

Speaking of quantum computing...

Sometimes you're just surfing the trend. I mentioned the shufflers of qubits in Bigger is Much Hotter ~ and lo and behold another development in the field.
