Just a 6-Million Year Old Gorilla Girl?

A dissent in the hullabaloo over Toumai (see A new ancestor).

Brigitte Senut of the Natural History Museum in Paris said certain aspects of the skull, whose discovery in Chad was announced on Wednesday, were actually sexual characteristics of female gorillas rather than indications of a human character.

If it's a proto-gorilla, that's still pretty interesting, because apparently there's a huge gap in the large ape family tree too. (Can you believe they were protesting inequality in the art world all the way back then?)

Trying to sort out that line-up...

There I am, at the beginning of my sophmore year of high school, trying to figure out who are going to be my friends, whom do I want to hang around, and still idealizing musicians. Take note of the teacher-worship ~ that's a recurring thing and it gets worse and worse, until, years later, ... well, that would be telling.

Also, I clearly had not grasped the concept of paragraph formation in the journal context. Eight subjects in as many sentences.

I've decided that when the entries are relatively short I'm going to double them up. (So much for the day synchronization.) Otherwise I'm going to drag y'all kicking and screaming through 6 years of this one day at a time, and that just seems cruel.
