Chris and Maren from Seattle's Lindy Workshops are a MUST! They are a must on November 25 together with Kevin's on December 9 if you are in Vancouver. We'll be there!

CHRIS AND MAREN FROM SEATTLE ARE GOING TO BE TEACHING IN VANCOUVER! (on November 25 starting at 10a.m.)

That's right everyone! The fabulous teaching team of Chris and Maren will be in town teaching some very neat sounding workshops! They'll be doing Fast Lindy (which will have some tips on how to dance to higher tempo songs, as well as some cool moves that will work for those same songs),Connections (which will cover dancing with your partner, tips on stylingwith--and not in spite of--your partner, weight and balance sharing, and abunch of other cool stuff), and moves and styling (which will be some moves, and some styling).

I've traveled to a lot of camps and workshops, and learned under some ofthe most famous and reputable teachers in the world, and these guys are at least the second best, and possibly the best teachers Iâ??ve ever studied with. The last workshops they taught up here totally changed the way I thought about leading and following. Donâ??t miss out on this rare oportunity to learn from the very best!

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! To pre-register, and for more specific information, you can reply to this email, or visit our web page at www.uberswing.com

Kevin's next workshops are sure to be good. We'll be there will you?!? You should if you are in Vancouver!
Hello all!

When: Sunday, December 9th Where: Eagles Hall (corner of Third and Cesterfield in North Vancouver) What: Three 1.5 hour workshops Cost: $15 for individual classes $40 for all three

Classes:

12:15-1:45 Jazz Class

This is not your normal jazz class. In order to participate in this class you MUST sign up with a partner. The partnership does not need to be lead/follow, just someone whom you feel comfortable working with. This class will incoporate interaction between you and your partner and will not be a walk in the park(expect to sweat!). Runners are recommended, and please do not wear a skirt.

2:15-3:45 Lindy A

Just because you may be an advanced dancer doesn’t mean you know all the basics. This class is designed for more advanced dancers who need a refresher on the basics, or who are interested in learning new concepts on the way Lindy works. This class is open to all levels, and all levels are encouraged to participate.

4:00-5:30 Lindy B

The series of moves taught in this class will utilize concepts that were learnt in Lindy A, exploring the usefulness of each. Lindy A is not required to take this class, but you will benefit more if it has been taken.

To register e-mail Kevin at vancouverswingkid@yahoo.ca , or call 604.773.7699. Spaces ARE LIMITED, so register early to ensure a spot!

idevgames.com interviews Aaron Hillegass, author of an upcoming book on Cocoa programming. “Tomorrow I will get on a plane. I’ll have my PowerBook with me. On that flight, I can write Cocoa apps, PHP-based websites, Tomcat web applications, AppleScripts or Perl scripts. I can use Project Builder, Emacs, or vi. I’ll have my choice of MySQL or PostgreSQL to use as a back-end database. I’ll use Apache as my web server. And it is all free! If I’m willing to spend a little cash, I can also run Word or Photoshop. I may even watch a DVD on the flight. If there is a Windows or Linux developer on the plane next to me, he will envy me. Eventually, he will buy his own PowerBook.” [mac.scripting.com] - I'm going to have to pick up his book, Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X when it comes out.

WebReference: Using RSS news feeds with Perl. Interesting article written by one of the RDF people, before they invented RSS 1.0. Look at the history section. Heh. They hadn't tried to write UserLand out of the story yet. It's funny how accomplishments get undone, when the cause is religious.  [Scripting News]
