F-Script. F-Script is an Open Source scripting environment for Mac OS X. It's based on Smalltalk syntax and concepts, but instead of using Smalltalk's object model and frameworks, it uses Apple's Cocoa object model and frameworks to provide interactive and scripting access to Cocoa objects. Mozilla 0.95 on the Mac has a memory leak and/or a memory trampler. After running it for several days, other apps like Canon's powershot Browser don't open and clicking on a link that pops open a new window using JavaScript results in a phantom window (the window shows up in the "Tasks" menu but no window appears)!
Sometimes this can be fixed by quitting and restarting. Often, however, even though the browser has appeared to have exited, the menu still shows up on the menu bar and recovery is only possible by restarting the system.
Oh well this could also be a bug in Mac OS 9.0.4! Can't wait until Photoshop and Radio Userland are ported to Mac OS X so I can switch over fulltime.

Another installment in Processing XML with Java. For the last few months,
Elliotte Rusty Harold has been releasing online
installments of a work he'll eventually publish as a printed
book under the title Processing XML with Java. He's just
released the latest installment, a chapter on the XMLReader interface. [xmlhack]
