xml.com: DOM and SAX Are Dead, Long Live DOM and SAX. “Two explanations for SAX discomfort ran through the discussion: inexperience and, well, psychology. Many people find SAX hard because it’s new and odd. Others find it hard, even after it’s no longer new, because it requires a kind of conceptualization which they simply do not favor.” [mac.scripting.com] - My brain really only groks the DOM but I did do GUI event driven programming for the Amiga so I understand SAX but I don't see the need for SAX for most XML applications which are on small files that easily fit in memory.

For Alvin: BREW: Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless -- "The BREW platform allows developers to create applications that operate on all handsets with QUALCOMM CDMA chipsets. BREW sits between the chip system software and the application, making the phone's functionality available to the application without requiring the developer to have the chip system source code or even a direct relationship with a device manufacturer."
