Yet another ridiculous article by Leah McLaren: The perfect guy: smart, manly, makes great cookies - Summary: The perfect guy for women is just "gay" and just "manly" enough whatever that means. Interesting that the actual article in the real print newspaper was called "The perfect guy: smart, manly, Just Gay Enough"! Wonder why they changed the title of the online article? To stop the backlash? Apparently Just Gay Enough is a meme invented in 2000 by Talk magazine. I can see why Dave thinks memes are dangerous when silly but damaging memes like this get perpetuated.

I really think that this kind of gender and sexual stereotyping should stop! The implication is that only gay men can be sensitive and that only certain characteristics of gay men are acceptable to women. I am sure glad that I found my sweetie and married her! It's bad enough for a single person to find his or her partner without drivel like Leah's article perpetuating and increasing the misunderstandings between people: male and female, gay and non-gay.
