I know I should have done this on Canadian Thanksgiving back in October but we were in Italy then.

Thanks to:

Our parents for loving us and bringing us up.

Thank-you Barb for loving me!

Thank-you to all my friends and family for being there when we need you!

Thank-you Graeme and Elizabeth for moving to Vancouver, starting their swing dance school where Barb and I met. Thank-you Viva and Tyler for teaching us Lindy Hop! Thank-you to all of our dance teachers!

Thank-you Dave and Userland for the awesome software (Manila and Radio Userland) that I use every day.

Framework-Based Software Development in C++, 1/e - This book appears to be about writing generic software frameworks in C++ using CORBA. Something to check out. It's old but maybe still useful or maybe there's a second edition.

More David Every Web Objects articles:
  • iGeek: OOD or API? - This article is "mostly bogus". Using OO design and creating a framework are two different things. And you shouldn't even try to create a generic framework until you have implemented an application in the same domain at least twice; a key point from research on software frameworks that Every seems to have missed. A lot of architecture astronauts think that they can create a framework without creating an application in that domain first. Wrong!
