EE Times: SBC shifts focus from DSL to passive optical nets. PONs are cool, because 1/48 of 1 Gbps is still a lot. [Hack the Planet] - Holy back to the future, Batman! I worked on a Passive Optical Network project in the UK and Germany that was cancelled way back in 1995 and 1996. It would be really strange to see PON mass deployment now!
