Green River Plans?
Billings Gazette: "State officials are considering building new reservoirs or expanding existing reservoirs in the Green River Basin to ensure that water will be available for future use. Mike Besson, director of the Wyoming Water Development Commission, said the commission hired consultants to report on the possibility of placing dams above Fontenelle Reservoir on the Green River."
One use would be to satisfy downstream calls. There is always the prospect that Lake Powell may not fill again.

Good-neighbor Radio
Garrison Keillor: "After the iPod takes half the radio audience and satellite radio subtracts half of the remainder and Internet radio gets a third of the rest and Clear Channel has to start cutting its losses and selling off frequencies, good-neighbor radio will come back. People do enjoy being spoken to by other people who are alive and who live within a few miles of you."

Bolton and Filibusters
Stygius: "My heart warms to finally read a MSM (Main stream media) article on John Bolton, Nunn-Lugar implementation, and the plutonium liability dispute with Russia that has hamstrung the disposition of tons of weapons-grade plutonium."
TalkLeft: "Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) jumped ship today in an appearance on This Week, by acknowledging that Republicans prevented 62 Clinton nominees from being voted upon by the Senate."

Mid-term Democratic Convention
Western Democrat: "AlterNet's Tom Cosgrove has sent a letter to Howard Dean suggesting that the DNC host a mid-term convention to motivate the grassroots, become the 'party of ideas', and set the stage for a big win in '06. He suggests Denver and St. Louis as possible locations. (Yeah, on the Eastern Seaboard, Missouri counts as 'west'.)"
Coyote Gulch says, "Bring 'em on." Denver has the convention space, the hotels (we're building more), the experience (think NBA All Stars), an energized grass-roots and the net-roots is growing. Just make sure that you credential bloggers.
